What it looks like
It looks like loose silk threads in a stream, or the veins of marble taking shape. On an off-white background, thousands of thin strokes in navy, indigo and cyan move together along curving paths and leave long trails that slowly fade, so the drawing keeps renewing itself. The currents change shape slowly. When the mouse passes over, nearby lines spin around the pointer in a whirlpool that disappears as soon as it leaves. Background, colors and line width are props, and your content sits on top.
You may be looking for this if you asked for something like
- a background with thin lines flowing like silk threads
- that effect where particles draw currents, like wind
- a light, elegant background for our company manifesto page
- lines moving like liquid marble behind the text
- a generative art background that swirls when I move the mouse
- something refined and calm for a corporate site, without 3D
- strokes that flow on their own like a wind map
Also known as
- flow field
- curl noise
- generative art background
- Perlin noise flow
- particle trails
- wind map effect
When to use
- Company or law firm sites that want a sober, editorial background
- Manifesto, purpose or founding letter pages
- Covers for reports, studies or architecture and design portfolios
- A light hero where a dark or neon effect would clash
When to avoid
- Small text placed over the effect, where the fine lines compete with the letters
- Very old phones, since thousands of particles per frame load the processor
How to ask your AI
Create a Canvas 2D flow field background for the manifesto page: thousands of particles following curl noise in my brand colors, silky thin trails, a whirlpool at the cursor, paused when off screen and a static image for reduced motion.
With THM Componentes, you paste the full prompt from the catalog, which already includes this component's source code, and the AI reproduces this exact effect instead of improvising.
Questions about Correnteza
Will Correnteza slow down my site?
Correnteza is rated Medium in THM Componentes. Its 1,800 particles are computed on the processor every frame with Canvas 2D, and the animation pauses when it leaves the screen. On weaker phones, lower the amount with the count prop; fewer particles keep the look, with less dense currents. Check INP before and after.
How do I change Correnteza's colors?
Correnteza takes a list of line colors and a background color; each particle picks one color from the list. The THM Componentes prompt tells your AI to use your project tokens. For dark mode, use a dark background with light lines. Noise scale, trail length and line width can also be tuned.
Does Correnteza respect reduced motion settings?
Yes, with a caveat. With reduced motion on, Correnteza only draws during the first three seconds after the page opens, then freezes the image of the lines and ignores the cursor. If it scrolls into view after that, it shows only the background color, so it suits sections near the top of the page.
